Dear Eco Hub families,
We've crammed the shortest month with non-stop fun and excitement for our learners! From a week-long Carnival celebration filled with creativity and epic costumes, to cinema trips and our Pioneers exploring both the Urban and Village Hubs, February has been awesome!
Warmly,
Guille & The Eco Hub Team
In cycle 2’s Explora, learners are diving into the theme “The Impact of Entertainment on Society.” And they couldn’t have kicked things off in a cooler way—by visiting the Pixar Exhibition in Barcelona during their first week back! They got to explore how some of their all-time favorite movies tug at our hearts and teach us lessons that stick. Talk about an epic start to their journey of discovery!
The Discoverers enjoyed a trip to the cinema to see Flow, a visually breathtaking film that brings the beauty of nature to life. It was the perfect match for their Connect building block, which explores the power of sound in the environment and how it can be used to tell compelling stories.
After two wonderful visits to the elderly house as part of our Explora Building Block, this time, we had the joy of welcoming them to Eco Hub! It was a beautiful exchange where they got to see our space, share conversations, and even teach our learners the basics of Braille!
Moments like these remind us of the power of intergenerational learning—building empathy, connection, and shared wisdom. We’re grateful for this ongoing relationship and look forward to more meaningful experiences together!
On Wednesday, we had the privilege of welcoming Fronteras Invisibles, a social project dedicated to combating racism, xenophobia, and Islamophobia through education. Their work helps people understand the challenges migrants face upon arriving in Spain, fostering empathy and awareness.
After an introduction to their mission, learners engaged in a powerful board game experience, stepping into the shoes of migrants navigating different realities. It was deeply moving to see learners recognize their own stories—or those of family members—in the game, highlighting the contrast between smooth transitions and the difficult obstacles many face.
One particularly impactful moment was when learners received identity tags, prompting reflections on stereotypes, judgments, and the subtle but hurtful non-verbal messages people experience based on appearance. The session was a profound opportunity to explore and challenge social barriers, reinforcing the values of empathy, respect, and inclusion.
Please complete the following form by 10 March to confirm if you will be re-enrolling your children for the upcoming school year. On the same form, you can also let us know if you plan to enrol any siblings who aren't currently at Learnlife.
If you have more than one child at Learnlife, you will need to complete a separate form for each child. Thank you for your ongoing commitment to Learnlife. We look forward to continuing to support your child's learning journey together.
As our Pioneers (Year 2) continue their learning journey, we are committed to ensuring a smooth and meaningful transition to their next stage. This phase is designed to nurture their growing independence, strengthen key competencies, and provide them with the tools to confidently embrace new challenges. If you missed our Info Session on 12/02, you can find the presentation and recording for a detailed overview of what this transition entails. As always, we welcome any questions and look forward to supporting each learner through this important step!
This is a gentle reminder for learners to arrive by 08:50 to ensure they are ready to start Real Talk promptly at 09:00 to avoid interruptions when the session has started and help your learner(s) transition into the morning. Thank you!
Please find the menu for March here.
As a reminder, please find the key dates for the learners’ 360s in cycle 2 and 3:
Cycle 2’s 360s: 31/03 - 04/04
Cycle 3’s 360s: 04/06 - 11/06
We are thrilled to welcome two new interns Amalie and Mélodie, from a university in the Netherlands. They are studying International Teacher Education for Primary Schools, focusing on training future teachers to be holistic, open-minded, inclusive, and educational innovators, a perfect fit for Learnlife!
They will be working across the hub and we are delighted to have them join us until May! Be sure to say hello when you see them around!
Join us for our monthly Parent Coffee on March 28, at 9am, where Joyce will be available to discuss key topics related to secondary education at Learnlife. While all parents are welcome, this session will be especially relevant for those with Pioneers.
We’ll be tackling important questions such as:
What pathways will be available to my child if they graduate from Learnlife's secondary hubs (Urban or Village) in six years?
Will Learnlife’s secondary hubs prepare my child for university entrance?
How will my child be prepared for university-level coursework and exams?
If my child needs to take entrance exams for secondary school or university in our home country, how will Learnlife support them?
What post-secondary opportunities are available for students who hold a Spanish passport?
What post-secondary opportunities are available for students who do not hold a Spanish passport?
We encourage you to bring any additional questions you may have. We look forward to an informative and engaging discussion!

Last Thursday, February 27th, Eco Hub was bursting with color, laughter, and celebration as we came together for an unforgettable Carnival! Thanks to the incredible dedication and creativity of our families, learners enjoyed a variety of fun stations—from mask-making and face-painting to bingo, musical hula-hoops, and, of course, delicious snacks! The highlight of the day was a magician show that left everyone in awe.
A huge thank you to all the parents who helped organize, set up, and bring this celebration to life. Your enthusiasm and support made this event truly special for our learners. We’re so grateful to have such a wonderful community! 💛🎭
We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help bring our Cycle 2 & 3 events to life! Whether it’s lending a hand with logistics, sharing a special skill, or getting involved in the fun, we’d love your support. Let us know how you can help by signing up here! Thanks for being part of our community!
Our latest Parent Coffee was an inspiring and engaging session! Families dove deep into the Competency Framework, exploring how learning is structured at Eco Hub and brainstorming meaningful ways to nurture these skills at home. The discussions were rich, and it was wonderful to see so much curiosity and collaboration.
To continue the conversation, we’ll soon be sharing a family-friendly version of the framework, making it even easier to connect with your child’s learning journey. Stay tuned, and thank you to everyone who joined!
