Below is a handy guide to the language we use at Learnlife. If you ever hear or see something you don’t understand, just ask.
Learnlife’s Secondary Programs provide learners with a personalized, flexible, and competency-based education. The three programs —Explorers, Creators, and Changemakers—are designed to cultivate autonomy, creativity, and real-world impact, progressing from exploration to creation to impact.
To help your child settle in and make the best possible start, new learners will join all learners from 2nd to 4th September for community building and orientation.
During these two days, your child will be welcomed into their learning community and participate in fun, collaborative activities to build connections and form their circle of support.
They will:
get to know other learners and Learning Guides
meet returning learners and ask them about life at Learnlife
learn about our learning approach, community values and other essential information
explore their new learning environment
If you have any questions about the orientation days, please contact community@learnlife.com.
Please make sure your child brings:
A laptop and charger. Their name should be clearly labelled on their device and equipment.
A refillable water bottle.
Pencil Case (pens, pencils, markers / colors, highlighters, eraser, sharpener).
Notebooks (lined and grid) of choice.
Transparent folder to keep loose papers.
Water bottle.
Headphones.
Lunch and cutlery (important!)
Any personal items they may need during the day.
As learners join Literary Clubs during the year, families may also be asked to purchase specific books.
The schedules for each program are as follows:
Explorers - Monday to Thursday, 9:00 to 16:00. Friday, 9:00 to 13:00.
Creators and Changemakers - Monday to Thursday, 10:00 to 17:00. Friday, 10:00 to 14:00.
Daily schedules will be finalized by the learning team when they return on August and shared with you.
You will receive an invitation for your child’s learning program group meeting on 10th September, where the team will explain the schedules in detail.
If your child wants to continue learning at the end of the day, they are welcome to stay in the Hub until 17:30.
We expect Explorers to arrive on time and be prepared to start the day at 9:00 and Creators and Changemakers at 10:00.
Tardiness: If your child is running late, please let us know by emailing urbanhub@learnlife.com or calling +34 695 118 539
If your child has not arrived within the first 30 minutes of their scheduled day, and we have not heard from you, our Community Host will email you to check in and confirm the reason for the delay.
If your child is going to arrive late, please email us in advance and include the reason for the delay, so we can keep track and understand any patterns.
If your child is repeatedly late, they will need to follow the specific tardiness policy of their program. When needed, we will also arrange a conversation with you and your child to better understand the situation and agree on a way forward.
Absence, extended absences and leaving early: If your child needs to leave early or will be absent, please let us know by emailing urbanhub@learnlife.com or calling +34 695 118 539.
If your child will be absent for an extended period due to a family circumstance, please email urbanhub@learnlife.com and michel@learnlife.com
Your child can bring their own lunch daily. Alternatively, you can place an order for their lunch through our catering partner, The Healthiest Choice. Further details including prices, menus, and and sign-up instructions available via WhatsApp: +34 624 207 186.
Once learners begins the Creators program, they can leave the Hub for lunch and breaks. If your child is in Creators, they can leave the Hub for lunch with your permission.
We recommend that your child also bring healthy snacks with them in case they would like to eat something between Building Blocks (classes).
At the beginning of the year, we will send families a medication authorization form to complete if their child may need to receive any medication during the school day.
If your child needs to receive prescribed medication, please provide our Community Host with a copy of the prescription and clear instructions for use. We cannot give learners medication without written authorization from the family and, when required, from the doctor.
No learner under 18 should self-medicate at the Hub, unless they have a specific medical need that requires them to carry their medication with them, such as diabetes or another previously agreed health condition.
For any pain medication, such as paracetamol, we will need written permission from the family every single time before giving it to the learner.
The 2026-2027 Urban Hub calendar can be found here.
Please note that the calendar will be updated, and a final version will be sent in the first week of September.
Kerry Schorr (Hub Operations Lead) maintains an Urban Hub Google Calendar with all upcoming activities. You can find instructions on how to add it to your calendar here.
