Dear Village Hub Families,
Welcome to this month’s highlights! It has been a wonderful few weeks filled with creativity, exploration, and meaningful learning across our community. From outdoor adventures to innovative projects and exciting celebrations, our learners have been busy growing, connecting, and shining in so many ways. Here’s a look at what we’ve been up to!
We’re excited to announce that Jasper is the winner of our Scary Story Contest! His story stood out for its creativity, atmosphere, and spine-tingling details.
A huge thank you to the writers of Write Where You Are for judging the contest and providing such thoughtful, detailed feedback. They made it clear that there were many wonderful pieces, making it a very hard decision to make. We cannot wait to see where these young writers take their writing and storytelling next!
On November 11, our learners spent a wonderful day at Casa Can Grau, connecting with each other and enjoying the beauty of nature. Surrounded by trees, fresh air, and wide spaces to explore, students took part in a series of team-building games designed to strengthen collaboration, communication, and trust.
From problem-solving challenges to playful group activities, the day was filled with laughter, movement, and meaningful moments of connection. It was a chance for our learners to work together, reset, and simply enjoy being outdoors.
Our Explorers and Creators stepped into the world of entrepreneurship this month, becoming true kidpreneurs as they designed their own companies and inventions. Each group began by exploring their personal and community values, using them as the foundation for building an ethical and meaningful business concept.
Learners then created a full pitch and presentation, thoughtfully incorporating ethos, pathos, and logos to persuade their audience. Many teams went even further, designing company logos and even producing their own commercials to showcase their ideas.
A big thank you to the volunteers who joined us as "sharks"—your feedback and enthusiasm gave our learners an authentic, meaningful experience that made their hard work feel real.
A quick reminder that our Learner-Led 360s are happening this week! Our learners have been working incredibly hard to prepare their reflections, goals, and evidence of growth, and they are excited to share their learning journeys with you.
If you haven’t done so yet, please make sure to book your appointment. We can’t wait to see you there and celebrate your child’s progress together!
Our end-of-cycle Showcase is just around the corner, and we’re excited to celebrate all the creativity and learning from this cycle. A reminder that learners who would like to participate in the Show must sign up by December 5th. The Showcase will begin with a Gallery Walk from 2:00–2:45, followed by the Open Mic from 2:45–4:00, and we’ll finish the afternoon with a community celebration organized by the parent hub. We can’t wait to see the wonderful projects, performances, and shared moments that bring our community together!
Join us for our next Parent Coffee session on December 5th at 9:00am (in person) at Kismar.
We also want to share the EMPOWER programme, a free (Erasmus+-funded) professional learning opportunity offered by Learnlife.
EMPOWER highlights the importance of nurturing social–emotional skills, creating learner-centred environments, and supporting young people with thoughtful digital practices and learning experiences that spark curiosity, autonomy, and wellbeing.

In our second interactive learning module, families explored how to engage their learners in meaningful conversations about their own learning. Together, we unpacked what Building Blocks are and how they naturally develop over time—not as checklists, but as evolving steps in each child’s growth. Parents practiced simple strategies to spark reflective dialogue at home, helping learners notice their progress and better understand their own learning process. By the end of the session, families left with practical, everyday tools to support and deepen these reflections in a grounded and supportive way.
If you missed the session, you can check the presentation and the recording here.
Warm regards,
– The Village Hub Team
