We have updated the calendar with more events and important dates. Please make sure to check it out. This includes the parent modules and more workshops!
At Learnlife, one of our greatest strengths is the richness of our community. Many of you bring unique skills, passions, and experiences, and we would love to collaborate with you to enrich our learners’ journeys.
We’ve created a short form for parents who are interested in offering a workshop, giving a talk, proposing an outing, or supporting in other ways. Having you involved not only deepens the learning opportunities for our learners but also strengthens the bonds across our community.
If you are interested, please take a few minutes to fill in the form [link]. We are excited to explore new ways of creating and learning together with you!
We’re excited to share that the Learner Council for 2025–2026 is now underway! Over the next few weeks, learners will nominate, campaign, and vote for representatives who will help shape our community. Nominations began today, campaigning will take place next week during school hours, and Voting Day is Friday, October 10th.
Serving on the Learner Council is a valuable opportunity to step into leadership, advocate for peers, and collaborate on community initiatives. We can’t wait to see the creativity and enthusiasm learners bring to this process! For any questions, please reach out to Suzanne at suzanne@learnlife.com
Are you interested in joining the Learnlife Rwanda Trip (January 10–24, 2026)? Learners (12+ if unaccompanied), parents, and family members are welcome to apply for this unforgettable experience exploring Rwanda’s culture, nature, and communities.
Join us for an online meeting on Thursday, October 2 at 5:00 pm [https://us02web.zoom.us/j/83566373885] to review details and assess interest. Estimated cost: under €3,000.
Please note that spaces are limited. Learners wishing to participate will be asked to submit a short application outlining their motivation, contribution, and expectations. For any questions, please reach out to Nicole at nicole@learnlife.com
Join us online or in person at Urban Hub for this special opportunity to come together as parents and guardians in the community. Suzanne will introduce the key science behind Thrive 3—our new program to promote healthy sleep, movement, and nutrition—and explore how families can best support these areas at home. This is the perfect time to ask questions, share personal stories, and connect with other parents while discovering practical resources and family initiatives for the year!
We are excited to bring back the Parent Coffees, where we invite you to the Hub to enjoy a coffee / tea with us, ask questions, connect with other parents, and strengthen our community. The upcoming dates are:
Friday, 17 October 2025, 9:00–10:00
Friday, 28 November 2025, 9:00–10:00
Join us on October 2nd at 6pm for our first joint Parent Learning Module. This virtual experience enables us to connect families from all three Hubs.
In this first interactive module, we will take a closer look at how learning is designed and documented at Learnlife. Together, we will explore our Competency Framework, how we gather evidence of growth, and the role of the Learning Vitae in capturing each learner’s journey. We will also discuss how these elements connect to future pathways, giving families a clear view of how learning today supports opportunities tomorrow.
If you would like to send us questions in advance, to make sure we cover them, please use this link by September 30th: https://forms.gle/rLxyGTwcdgH1dx2e9
This week, learners completed a form to indicate their interest in sitting AP exams this year. If your learner expressed interest, you will soon receive an update from their Learning Guide about registration and progress on the College Board platform. If you don’t hear from them within two weeks, please contact nicole@learnlife.com
If you and your learner are confident about taking one or more AP exams, please confirm by completing [this form]. The cost per exam this year will be of 220 EUR. Deadline to complete the form is November 3rd.
We’re inspired by the dedication learners are showing in their AP classes—from exploring Ibn Battuta’s 120,000-km journey in AP World History, to analyzing decision-making in AP Economics, and much more.
The Personal Learning Plans for this cycle have been sent, and you should have already received them. These documents outline each learner’s goals and plans for the cycle, and we encourage you to use them as a tool to facilitate meaningful learning conversations at home. Mentors will also have time available during the week of October 6–10 to meet with parents—especially new families who would like a check-in.
These are some of the outings happening during the upcoming month. We are always excited to bring learners closer to the incredible city we live in. You will receive specific information regarding the outing if your learner is signed up for it.
Explorers will be visiting CosmoCaixa as part of their Natural Systems Building Block, where they are learning about the scientific method and will have the opportunity to explore experiments in action. (Learnlife has bought the tickets)
During the week of October 6th, we are planning a special outing: a guided route through Roman Barcelona designed by the learners from the City Planning Building Block in Creators. To make the most of our time, we will leave at 9:00. Families are warmly invited to join us on this experience. The route will be created and led mostly by the learners themselves.
The Spanish-section Explorers will be visiting Catalunya Ràdio as part of our Media Building Block. They will have the chance to see part of a live radio program during the visit, which will take place on October 13th. It’s important that they arrive on time, as we will be leaving first thing in the morning.
The Spanish-section Creators will be visiting Mercat de la Boqueria as part of our Català Block. This outing will give learners the chance to explore one of Barcelona’s most famous markets, practice their language skills in real-life situations, and connect with local culture through food and traditions. (Morning Outing)
This October, our learners will have the opportunity to visit one of Barcelona’s most iconic landmarks—the Sagrada Família. On October 21, the Explorers will go as part of their Numeracy Building Block. On October 28, the Creators and Changemakers will also visit, with the outing open to interested OPL CM learners as well. (Learnlife has bought the tickets)
This month, learners in the Sports Studio will be heading to Barceloneta Beach for two exciting afternoons of volleyball tournaments and swimming. The outings will take place on Tuesday, September 30 and Thursday, October 2, with both the Explorers and the Creators & Changemakers joining. (Afternoon outing)
