Dear Eco Hub families,
Welcome 2025! We had such an exciting first month back, welcoming new learners, going on fun trips and starting a new sprint of Adelante, one which was led by one of our amazing learners! Don’t forget to watch the videos from our Learners below to find out what are some big questions we are tackling in this cycle’s Explora, Connect, and Imagine building blocks.
Warmly,
Guille & The Eco Hub Team
As we kick off this new cycle, learners will be exploring big questions and enduring understandings across our Building Blocks. In the document below, you’ll find an overview of each Building Block, the key skills being developed, and the projects learners will be working on.
Feel free to use this as a starting point for conversations with your learners about their experiences and discoveries!
Want to know what learners are diving into during Imagine, Explora, and Connect? Hear directly from them as they share their discoveries, projects, and experiences! Stay tuned for their insights and creativity.
John talks about the Big Idea for Imagine (Adventurers).
Bruno and Noa talk about the Big Idea for Explora (Discoverers).
Charlotte, Corrina and Oliver talk about the Big Idea for Connect (Pioneers).
The new cycle is off to an exciting start, with learners diving into thought-provoking themes and hands-on experiences right from week one! From uncovering the impact of entertainment on society at the Pixar Exhibition to exploring the world of design at the Disseny Hub, and even connecting across generations through heartfelt interviews at Torre Marina residential home—learners are engaging with the world in meaningful and inspiring ways. Check out some of the incredible moments from their first week back!
Pixar exhibition
In cycle 2’s Explora, learners are diving into the theme “The Impact of Entertainment on Society.” And they couldn’t have kicked things off in a cooler way—by visiting the Pixar Exhibition in Barcelona during their first week back! They got to explore how some of their all-time favorite movies tug at our hearts and teach us lessons that stick. Talk about an epic start to their journey of discovery!
Museu del Disseny de Barcelona
A lucky group of our learners got to go on not one, but TWO exciting excursions during the first week of cycle 2! This time, it was the Discoverers’ turn to explore the Disseny Hub in Barcelona as part of their Imagine Building Block. Ready to fuel their curiosity, the design museum gave them a chance to dive into the vibrant world of graphic design, sparking their creativity and inspiring them to think like true innovators and creators. What an adventure!
Torre Marina residència d'avis
The Pioneers turned into super curious interviewers when they visited Torre Marina residential home! Eager to uncover what kind of entertainment has brightened the residents' lives over the years, they asked all sorts of interesting questions. With their curiosity sparked, they can’t wait for their next visit to keep the conversations going!
As we approach the end of the year, our Year 2 Pioneers are preparing for their next learning journey! To support this transition, the Learning Team has designed a structured plan outlining key milestones, guidelines, and important dates.
You’ll find the transition in the following link. We encourage you to review it, even if your learner is still not a Year 2 Pioneer, as there are information meetings that you might be interested in!
This is a gentle reminder for learners to arrive by 08:50 to ensure they are ready to start Real Talk promptly at 09:00 to avoid interruptions when the session has started and help your learner(s) transition into the morning. Thank you!
If you have not already completed our cycle 1 survey, we would love your feedback right here. THANK YOU!

Today, in our monthly Parent Coffee, we had the opportunity to dive deep into one of the key tools from our Behavior Expectations Policy: the Conflict Resolution Steps. This tool is effective at managing conflicts constructively, fostering growth and positive relationships both at school and at home.
At the primary years level (and at any point in life, really), conflicts are inevitable. However, what can be addressed is the way these are handled. At the Eco Hub, we follow a specific process to mediate conflicts:
1. Cool off – Calm down and acknowledge emotions.
2. Share, listen, check – Each person shares their feelings and the other person listens and repeats back what the other person said.
3. Take responsibility – Acknowledge actions and how they impacted others.
4. Brainstorm solutions – Find win-win solutions.
5. Choose a solution
6. Affirm, forgive, or thank – Close the conflict with mutual respect.
