Dear Eco Hub families,
And in a blink of an eye, the 2024/25 academic year is over! We have had an incredible year with the learners, that culminated with our first ever Eco Hub Talent Show and a fond farewell to our transitioning Pioneers!
We hope you have a fun-filled summer and make lots of lasting memories. See you back in August/September!
Warmly,
The Eco Hub Team
We hosted our first ever Talent Show and we are so proud of the learners who pushed themselves outside of their comfort zone to take part! From singing to magic and our very Eco Hub band, it was an unforgettable Showcase for us all!
We celebrated our graduating Pioneers with an action-packed visit to Port Aventura, followed by an emotional graduation ceremony (see graduation opening speech here), where we shared messages with the learners from the team, a potluck celebration, ending with a sleepover at the hub with not so much sleep, but a lot of fun!
We have one last goodbye that we are sad to announce after learners have already left. Carly Gazzola will be moving on from Learnlife to begin an entrepreneurial journey in art therapy with children. We are incredibly grateful for the dedication and care she has shown to all our learners. Her contributions to our community have been deeply valued and appreciated, and we wish her the best. She looks forward to coming by in September to say goodbye to the learners.
At the same time, we’re excited to welcome Matt Knowles to the Eco Hub team in the role of Learning Support Lead, previously held by Alena. Matt will be moving here with his wife, Delphine, and their child Arlo (9), who will be joining Eco Hub as a learner. Matt brings with him many years of experience in learning support and forest schools, and we’re thrilled to have him on board.
From September, the gate will be opening at 08:45 each morning. Please make sure your learner arrives on time so that they are ready to start their session at 09:00.
As summer unfolds, we invite learners to rest, explore, and follow their curiosities, to not stop learning. On this note, we've put together a short list of optional summer recommendations. No pressure, just suggestions for those moments when they feel like diving into something new, or just reviewing skills from this year. We’d love to hear what they discover along the way!

As we have shared in previous issues, our competency framework focuses on 5 learning domains. Each domain is composed of specific competencies that the learner develops during their time with us. These competencies remain the same across all programs. What changes are the skills that make up each competency, as they align with the focus areas and growth goals of each program. Please, see here the overview of the competencies and skills, by program.
