Dear Eco Hub Families,
Welcome to the first edition of our newsletter since the academic year began on September 4th! We’ve made some exciting updates, including new sections. Enjoy the read!
All Building Blocks have started their topics and projects as part of Sprint 1 (our 4-5 week periods focused on specific themes or projects). Here’s a brief overview of our exploratory Building Blocks and Real Talk. You can always check weekly updates in the Learning Highlights every Friday!
Some of you have asked about our Mind & Body Gym, which runs from 2:45 to 4:15 in the afternoons. It’s divided into two parts: Body Gym (movement-focused) and Mind Gym (stimulating brain activities or winding down).
Body Gym: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays are nature-based, while Tuesdays and Thursdays are Learning Guide-led.
Mind Gym: Learners can choose from various activity stations that suit their current energy or mood.
Please note, Mind & Body Gym may evolve based on learner and parent feedback as we progress through the cycle.
This year, we’ve introduced a new Building Block called Adelante. This workshop-based block invites community members to share their passions, led by Learning Guides, and eventually, by learners themselves. It’s about enjoyment, discovery, and sharing, without specific output expectations.
We invite parents to get involved! If you'd like to lead an Adelante session, our next round starts on October 11th and includes four sessions on Fridays from 1:30 - 2:30 pm (October 11th, October 18th, October 25th, November 8th). If you feel you are not ready yet, you are welcome to find other times throughout the year, or share your passions in a one-session deal in any other Building Block.
At the beginning of the year, our learners and Learning Guides co-created our Community Standards, shared agreements to help maintain a happy and supportive environment.
We’re excited to announce our first "Colònies" retreat from November 13th to 15th. This outdoor learning experience is primarily for Discoverers and Pioneers, but Year 2 Adventurers are welcome to join if they feel ready. The retreat is optional, with an estimated cost of 225€ per learner, including transportation by private school bus.
All details can be found in this document. We kindly ask you to confirm your learner’s participation by Friday, October 4th, via this form. If we do not hear from you by then, we will assume your learner is not attending.
We celebrate our diverse community! If you'd like to share your cultural traditions or holidays with the community, please reach out to Guille to organize a moment for this.
As part of our community standard, "We take care of our well-being," we kindly remind all families that bringing healthy snacks is an important part of our daily routine at the Hub. Nutritious snacks help learners stay energized, focused, and ready to fully engage in all our activities.
We encourage fruits, veggies, whole grains, and other wholesome options, while minimizing sugary treats or processed snacks. Let’s work together to build healthy habits that support our well-being and foster a positive environment for everyone. Thank you for your cooperation!

Welcome back from the EcoHub ParentHub! We are a group of parent volunteers committed to ensuring the success and stability of our LearnLife community. You could think of us as the LearnLife Parent-Teacher-Association. We collect annual dues and use this to support the community and the school with events, gifts for teachers, an annual Mercadillo (to raise more funds for projects) and more! We also host a number of events throughout the year as a chance for our community to come together as well as funnel feedback from parents to school leadership.
Our first event of this school year is:
Mercadillo (12 October - this is our annual flea-market and you can sign up for stands here!)
We will send out a survey soon to ask you how you might get involved in supporting our community in Cycle 1. If you aren't already receiving communication from us on WhatsApp, please reach out to us in person or at: llparenthub@gmail.com.
At the primary years level (and at any point in life, really), conflicts are inevitable. However, what can be addressed is the way these are handled. At the Eco Hub, we follow a specific process to mediate conflicts:
1. Cool off – Calm down and acknowledge emotions.
2. Share, listen, check – Each person shares their feelings.
3. Take responsibility – Acknowledge actions and how they impacted others.
4. Brainstorm solutions – Find win-win solutions.
5. Choose a solution
6. Affirm, forgive, or thank – Close the conflict with mutual respect.
More information, here.
Hope you have a great start to the week!
– Guille & the Eco Hub Team
