Dear Eco Hub Families,
Welcome to the first edition of our newsletter for this academic year! Since our first day on September 2nd, we’ve already launched into our Building Blocks and topics, and the learners are hands-on with their explorations. We’re excited to share some highlights with you—enjoy the read!
During learners’ onboarding week, Learners participated in a variety of activities to get to know each other and build group cohesion. This week also served as an introduction to the Building Blocks and an opportunity to establish routines.
We would like to highlight the incredible teamwork shown by each program during Imagine. Learners explored doodling, experimenting freely with lines, patterns and characters without worrying about perfection. They then worked together to restore, repaint and decorate furniture from the Hub, turning everyday pieces into shared artworks. It was an opportunity to express their creativity, build on each other’s ideas and care for the spaces we share.
All Building Blocks are now underway with their topics and projects as part of Sprint 1 —our four-week cycles dedicated to specific themes or projects. In the following link, you will find an overview of all our Building Blocks and their outputs for cycle 1 For more detailed updates, remember to check the weekly Learning Highlights, shared every Friday by your program Leads via email.
At the start of the year, our learners and Learning Guides co-created our Community Standards—shared agreements designed to foster a happy and supportive environment. This year we invited learners across all three programs to design the icons to represent them:
We’re excited to announce our second Colònies retreat (outdoor learning) from November 18th to November 20th! This experience is primarily for Discoverers and Pioneers, though Year 2 Adventurers are welcome to join if they feel ready. The retreat is optional. You will be receiving more information on place, cost and other details via email soon. Stay tuned!
At the Hub, we encourage families and learners to bring healthy snacks and meals, such as fruit, nuts, grains, and vegetables. We strongly recommend avoiding foods high in sugar or low in nutritional value to support learners in taking care of their minds and bodies.
Thank you for ensuring that learners arrive by 08:55, so they are ready to start Real Talk promptly at 09:00. Your support helps us minimize interruptions once the session begins and makes it easier for your learner(s) to transition smoothly into the morning. We really appreciate it!

We’re excited to announce Parent Hub’s first event of the year: Autumn Festival!
Taking place on Thursday, October 29th, during Mind & Body Gym (14:30h - 16:30h), this special event will bring some seasonal fun to the children’s day. We’ll celebrate the spooky spirit of Halloween, while also exploring other autumn traditions from our community, including Castanyada and Día de los Muertos.
🎃 Halloween costumes are encouraged!
🌰 Expect seasonal fun, traditions, and activities for the children.
This is a children-and-volunteers-only event. If you’re interested in helping make our first Parent Hub event special, please reach out to Frederike to volunteer.
We’re looking forward to celebrating the wonderful traditions and cultures that make our community so special! 🍁💀🎃
Warm regards,
