Dear Village Hub Families,
It’s been a full and inspiring cycle at the Hub, with learners engaging deeply in creative, collaborative, and hands-on experiences. We are excited to share some highlights from the past few weeks and celebrate the growth and achievements across our community.
Our Cycle 2 Showcase was a wonderful celebration of learner creativity and voice. During the gallery walk, learners shared projects they were most proud of, giving families a glimpse into their learning journey.
During the show, learners shared films they had written based on short stories, original theater pieces inspired by historical social justice themes, and a dynamic capoeira demonstration, among many other highlights.
It was a powerful reflection of the creativity, research, and confidence our learners continue to develop.
Cycle 3 intensives were a huge success, offering learners the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in their chosen projects.
In Big Art, learners transformed our space with large-scale, creative pieces. The school is now filled with their artwork, and Friday’s mini gallery walk highlighted an impressive range of styles, ideas, and collaborative efforts.
In Pop-Up Restaurant, learners brought their concepts to life in two very different ways from a vibrant döner kebab experience to an elegant Chinese restaurant. Throughout the week, they worked hard to turn their ideas into reality, gaining a real understanding of the planning, teamwork, and effort involved.
On the final days, the kitchens felt alive, with learners preparing food, calling out orders, and working together as a team.
Both of these intensives were a powerful example of hands-on, real-world learning, and we were incredibly proud of what they achieved.
Our learner-led 360 meetings were a great opportunity for learners to take an active role in sharing their learning. During these meetings, learners reflected on their progress, discussed their goals, and confidently communicated their experiences with families.
Learners also updated their Learning Views (LVs) — our digital portfolio — to showcase their work and growth throughout cycle 2. Families received a link to view these, and we encourage you to also log in with your child to their LV to explore the full range of artifacts they have uploaded over time.
We’re excited to offer a range of engaging studio options for the upcoming cycle:
Friday Studios (open to all learners): Music, Drawing in Nature, and Cooking
Tuesday Explorer & Creator Studios: Metalwork/Jewelry Making or Carpentry
Primary Studio: A focus on printmaking, along with additional creative explorations
Fitness Studio: Choice between Basketball or Expressive Movement
Morning Option: Yoga will be offered as a Real Talk alternative
Be sure to ask your child which one they have chosen.
We’re excited to offer private drumming lessons with internationally acclaimed drummer Robert Gibiagui.
With over 30 years of professional experience, Robert has performed at world-renowned festivals (including Glastonbury and Sónar), toured across 30+ countries, and worked with major international artists. Alongside his performance career, he also brings valuable experience teaching in international school settings, making him an engaging and supportive instructor for young learners.
These lessons are offered independently from our new music studio, providing a unique opportunity for students who want to develop their drumming skills through personalized, one-to-one sessions.
Get in touch with us if you would like to sign your learner up!
Join us for our next Parent Coffee session on 10th April in person at the Village Hub.
Throughout Cycle 3, our transitioning learners will be working on their transition projects during numeracy stations, literacy stations, and autonomy work time. This process supports them in reflecting on their learning and preparing for their next steps.
To celebrate their hard work and completion of the process, learners have chosen a trip to PortAventura World.
Please make sure to complete the survey to sign your child up!

For our fifth parent learning module, we explored behaviour as communication rather than defiance. The workshop focused on understanding the skills behind behaviour, the approaches used at the hubs, and using a collaborative problem-solving model (Plan B) grounded in empathy and structure.
If you missed the session, you can check the presentation and the recording.
Warm regards,
– The Village Hub Team
