Over the past month, our community has focused on building strong relationships, welcoming new learners, and engaging in dynamic projects across our spaces. Inside, you will find key program presentation updates, upcoming calendar dates, and an intro to our new Parent Hub. It was great to see and meet those of you in person who came to the potluck/ Parent Meetings and who joined us for the Parent Q&A this past week. If you missed it, not to worry - there will be other similar opportunities in the weeks and months ahead.
Until then, as always, please reach out if you have any questions or need support as we partner together in your learner’s journey.

The Parent Hub is a group of parents that represent the voice of all parents at the Urban Hub. This passionate and dedicated group helps to coordinate events, community celebrations, and maintain open and honest communication channels between the Urban Hub team and families.
We have a phenomenal group of parents, with many new faces! 👇🏼
At Learnlife, one of our greatest strengths is the richness of our community. Many of you bring unique skills, passions, and experiences, and we would love to collaborate with you to enrich our learners’ journeys.
We’ve created a short form for parents who are interested in offering a workshop, giving a talk, proposing an outing, or supporting in other ways. Having you involved not only deepens the learning opportunities for our learners but also strengthens the bonds across our community.
If you are interested, please take a few minutes to fill in the form [link]. We are excited to explore new ways of creating and learning together with you!

We’re excited to share that we have now nominated and voted for Learner Council members across all three programs! We look forward to bringing the council together the week of 28th September, where we’ll begin turning the passions, ideas, and hopes of our community into action.
We’ll start with our first community celebration on 30th October. This will be a learner-only Autumn Celebration, bringing together Halloween traditions alongside the many cultural and seasonal traditions represented within our community.
More details will be shared soon about the potluck, costumes, and celebration activities. We can’t wait to see what our learners create together! For any questions, please reach out to Suzanne at suzanne@learnlife.com
In this practical workshop with Suzanne, we’ll explore why young people become dysregulated, what may be happening beneath the behaviour, and how parents can respond in ways that support connection, regulation, and resilience. You’ll leave with simple, practical tools and strategies you can use at home to help your adolescent, and yourself, move from reactivity toward greater calm and connection.
This week, learners completed a form to indicate their interest in sitting AP exams this year. If your learner expressed interest, you will soon receive an update from their Learning Guide about registration and progress on the College Board platform. If you don’t hear from them within two weeks, please contact nicole@learnlife.com
If you and your learner are confident about taking one or more AP exams, please confirm by completing [this form]. The cost per exam this year will be 240 EUR. The deadline to complete the form is October 30th.
We’re inspired by the dedication learners are showing in their AP classes—from firming up ideas in AP Business, to learning new languages such as ‘calculus’ and ‘old English’, and much more.

(Shoutout to our Eco Hub Working Group who got this effort started!)
We feel that getting out into the world is an important part of the learning process! It helps us illustrate theoretical constructs, build new understanding, and see with fresh eyes. All outings will be communicated in advance to parents and added to the Urban Hub calendar.
For our Explorer parents, here are some photos of our outing to the Castelldefels beach.
Below you can find the tech and device policy shown during the welcome back presentation. Please read the presentation for our recommendations on child protection software for devices.
Laptop and charger, Pencil Case (pens, pencils, markers / colors, highlighters, eraser, sharpener), Notebooks (lined and grid) of choice, Transparent Folder to keep loose papers, Water bottle, Headphones, Lunch & Cutlery (Important!)
*Make sure everything is named.
Your child can bring their own lunch daily. Alternatively, you can place an order for their lunch through our catering partners.
Once learners turn 16, they can leave the Hub for lunch and breaks. If your child is in Creators and under 16, they can leave the Hub for lunch with your permission. Please make sure they bring their own cutlery. We recommend that your child also bring healthy snacks with them in case they would like to eat during breaks.
Film lovers take note—the renowned Sitges Film Festival returns from October 8th to 18th! It's a fantastic local event to check out with family over the weekend for world-class cinema, vibrant atmosphere, and great local culture.
