Dear Village Hub Families,
What a wonderful cycle it has been—and what a wonderful year! As we move into these final weeks together, our learners have so much to look forward to and so much to share with you. From learner-led 360 meetings and Showcase to the Learner Vitas, there are so many meaningful ways they'll be celebrating and demonstrating their growth. We can't wait to experience it all alongside them!
What a trip! Our learners had an out-of-this-world experience at CosmoCaixa this month, diving deep into the mysteries of space at the planetarium and exploring the exhibition on extraterrestrials. And it wasn't all about outer space, as we also wandered through the indoor rainforest and, of course, paid a visit to everyone's favorite resident: the capybara!
We are wrapping up what we believe to be our best cycle yet, and our learners have so much to show for it! From thoughtful pieces of writing to presentations on humanity's impact on the world, from beautifully crafted jewelry to the wonderfully creative animal houses our Discoverers and Pioneers have been building. It has been a joy watching these projects come to life, and we can't wait to celebrate everything they've achieved!
Families got a special sneak peek this month as our learners presented their Human Geography projects — action plans and policy proposals on geographical topics they chose, from local issues to global challenges. More than just a presentation, it was a real conversation, with families offering their thoughts and feedback in a way that truly mattered. It was a wonderful reminder of how much our community is part of the learning journey.
As part of their transitioning project, two of our learners took initiative to organize a much-needed litter pickup at the local park. A group of voluteers came together, connected with each other and with nature, and did something genuinely good for the community. A small act with a big impact and a proud moment for everyone involved!
From June 15 to 19 we have our week of intensives. This time we will offer choice, creativity, and community in a slightly different way. Learners will be offered a range of activities to dive into — from tie-dye and team building to collaborative projects that bring the whole hub together. They'll also be taking on the exciting challenge of planning an overnight stay right here at the hub, organizing everything from the food to the entertainment themselves. On top of that, we have a few whole-hub trips to look forward to, plus some hands-on hub design and carpentry to round things off. It's going to be a brilliant week!
