Dear Village Hub Families,
Sant Jordi was a joy this year with poetry, performances, and the buzz of celebration! As we settle into cycle 3, we have been struck by the incredible energy and atmosphere around the hub lately. There is a real sense of curiosity, creativity, and community in the air, and it is truly wonderful to witness. We hope you enjoy this edition!
We are so excited to share how beautiful the learning has looked lately! Our learners have been busy exploring, creating, and growing in so many wonderful ways. From getting lost in a good book to presenting research about planets and space, from poring over maps together to playing music in a band, there is never a dull moment at our hub. Learners have been getting creative through printing and cooking and showing real courage by expressing themselves in languages that are not their mother tongue. It has been a joy to watch their passion for learning come alive.
To celebrate Sant Jordi's Day, we held our very own Jocs Florals competition, with learners showcasing their creativity through a variety of stories and poems. A big thank you to our judges for their time and thoughtful feedback! It means so much to our writers to receive that encouragement and guidance.
As a reward for their efforts, participants got to choose a new game and a selection of books for our hub, and enjoyed a special dessert with Paula — a well-deserved treat!
On Sant Jordi's Day itself, we headed out for a long walk to take in the atmosphere, browse the stalls, and admire the sea of book stands and roses that make this day so magical. For some of our learners, it was their very first Sant Jordi. What a day to remember!
Our Discoverers and Pioneers put their creative skills to the test, working hard to prepare and practice a puppet show—and what a performance it was! They took their show to the Green Apple Nursery School, performing in front of an audience of 2- to 6-year-olds. Bringing the story to life with imaginative voices and brilliant sound effects, our learners truly shone on the day. It was a wonderful opportunity for them to step up, show leadership, and share something they had worked so hard on with the wider community. We couldn't be more proud!
This June, we are excited to offer a very special intensive — The Hub Project — dedicated to reimagining and beautifying our shared learning space. Running from 15th to 19th June, this hands-on intensive will give learners the chance to think creatively about design, color, and community spaces.
Do you or someone in your family have a background or interest in interior design? We would love to have you involved! Please reach out if you would like to participate alongside our learners.
As spring arrives and homes get a refresh, we would also warmly welcome any donations of plants, artwork, or furniture that might be looking for a new home. Every contribution will go directly into making our hub an even more inspiring place to learn.
Our Explorers and Creators are invited to attend the Learnlife Prom at the Urban Hub on May 15th from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. The theme is 007 Casino Royal. Tickets are 10€ each and can be purchased by Alena or Caro at the Village Hub.
Join us for our next Parent Coffee session on 8th May. This session will focus on our technology and AI framework, and we would really value your thoughts and input on this important policy. We will also be joined by our CEO, Leigh Fitzgerald. It's a conversation we don't want you to miss!
Throughout Cycle 3, our transitioning learners will be working on their transition projects during numeracy stations, literacy stations, and autonomy work time. This process supports them in reflecting on their learning and preparing for their next steps.
To celebrate their hard work and completion of the process, learners have chosen a trip to PortAventura World.
Here is the complete calendar for next year with holidays, showcase dates, and events. Please let us know if you have any questions.
Here are some key dates to keep in mind:
May 8 - Parent Coffee with Leigh Fitzgerald to review our technology framework
May 13 - Cosmo Caixa Excursion (Whole Hub)
May 25 - Bank holiday
Remember to check the calendar on our website for key dates.
We know that not everyone is able to make it to every Parent Coffee in person — and we want to make sure every voice is heard! Ahead of our next meeting on 8th May, which will be focusing on our technology and AI framework, we have put together a short form so that your questions, concerns, and suggestions can be gathered and represented on the day.

Last May 30th, Suzanne Faith, Well-being Lead and Learning Guide at Urban Hub, led a workshop to offer a clear and compassionate understanding of ADHD through the lens of brain science and the reward system. The workshops looked at how attention, motivation, and emotional regulation are governed by neurochemistry, and what this means for everyday parenting. Parents learned practical strategies to support focus, regulation, build healthy routines, and respond to challenges in ways that nurture confidence and resilience.
If you missed the session, you can check the presentation and the recording.
Warm regards,
– The Village Hub Team
